Counsel of the godly

Psalm1
1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

There is a counsel or group you can find yourself and you will be convinced you are in the right path pleasing the Lord. This is the counsel of the godly. When you have a couple of friends and you have course to meet periodically, make sure you stir the discussions in the direction that will edify God and uplift one another. Don't expect people to start a godly conversation before you join in.Be the motivator and the initiator.Plan with others on how to help people, encourage the weak, give to the needy and so on.Be careful not to slip into gossip, backbiting, planning to hit back on those that have offended you.
I used to have a friend who did not have any line of discussion other than how he would love to meet a new girl to sleep with .As much as I would love to discourage him on this issue,he would press on to explain how badly his wife was treating him.Everyone knows that cutting the head off is not the antidote for head ache .I didn't have a choice than to keep a distance from such a friend .The blessings that God promised those that do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly will definitely not elude you in Jesus name.

True love

 1st Peter1:22-25

 1:22 Seeing ye have purified
your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

The type of love that we are expected to show to each other is clearly stated above.Take note of the words "unfeigned" and "fervently". These are strong expressions of how we should  demonstrate our love for the brethren. It should be unconditional, not attached to any expected benefit. There is no reason for us to be gratifying our flesh which will wither away like grass one day. Whatever act of love, kindness and compassion we show to each other matter the most to God. By doing this,  we are actually preaching the truth of the gospel that Jesus Christ has sent us to do. If we are engaged in massive evangelism, cast out evil spirits and pray for fire to come down like Elijah but fail to show true love to one another especially those in the household of faith, our service to God will be in vain. I pray for the reader of this message not to serve God in vain without reward in Jesus name

Whatever You sow, You reap

 Micah 2:1-13 (KJV)

2:1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.2:2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.2:3 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.2:4 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.2:5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.2:6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.2:7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?2:8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.2:9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.2:10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.2:11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.2:12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.2:13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

Message
God is always in the business of fighting for his people. One of the things we do to make him angry and incur his wrath is to engage in covetousness. The temptation to take what doesn't belong to us will come,  especially when we have the power to do so unchallenged. But we must resist that temptation otherwise we will find ourselves in big trouble. King David fell into this temptation when he took his soldier's wife,  in the second book of samuel chapter  11, and "got his fingers burnt" for it. God loves to fight for the helpless , and when you stand in his way, you have yourself to blame. King Ahab did the same thing for Naboth by taking his vineyard in 1st kings 21.We should be content with what we have and if we need more, we should ask God instead of asking man, forcefully dispossessing  people of their belongings  or being so desperate as to device other evil means of acquiring such things. God will give us the spirit of contentment and not of covetousness in Jesus name.
